Association of Flight Attendants

Working together creates a better Union & place to work!

DISPLACED DAYS OFF

Again, the company has turned your lives upside down, and continues to violate your rights!

If you were displaced you are entitled to contractual days off.

  •  They are as follows:  Three (3) consecutive (all in a row, together) days off to look for someplace to live.
  • One day of travel for every 400 AAA miles (or fraction thereof) to drive/get to your new place.

Example: 1,250 Miles to get to FLL, you get four (4) days to move your stuff.

  • Five (5) consecutive days off to settle in, unpack, get cable/electrical/etc. hooked up, clean and get ready to go to work.

THIS IS ALL TO TAKE PLACE BEFORE YOU REPORT TO WORK, with the exception of the 5 consecutive days off. Per the company this may be taken within one (1) year of the displacement. Your choice & don't lose them.

If this NOT happening, call your Local reps immediately. Georgia Rosenbaum 843-267-3052 or your FLL Local reps.

They keep jacking you around; get what is entitled to you, all of it.

CLARIFICATION MOVING DAYS OFF

I made a mistake and was not clear on "when" a flight attendant could take the required days off as outlined in Section 15.D.3 & 4.

If you are moving before SEPT 1, then the days should be taken before SEPT 1.

If you are moving after SEPT 1, you have one (1) year to complete the move and take your days off.

I am sorry for any confusion. Sometimes my brain and fingers work faster than they should.  My apologies.

Respectfully,
Deborah A. Crowley
